Oven-Baked Chili Dogs
I have never been a huge hot dog fan. I enjoy one every now and then, but I would pick a good hamburger over a hot dog any day. My favorite way to cook hot dogs is on the barbeque, because I like when they get really crispy and well done.
I saw this recipe quite a while ago and did what I always do, saved it and then forgot about it. I just came across it the other day and I couldn't get it out of my mind. I have never had a craving for hot dogs, but for some reason I had a craving to try these babies out.
I figured it would be a good recipe to make since the boyfriend likes hot dogs, and we had some veggies in the fridge that really needed to be used up (I love when you make a recipe that helps you clean out your fridge!)
The recipe was really simple, basically just gathering ingredients and assembling them as desired (and there is not much skill required for that!) and the prep/bake was very quick!
These hot dogs were pretty delicious, a little on the messy side (definitely a fork and knife meal, unless you're really brave!), but they were SUPER filling! I was soooo stuffed after eating just one!
Overall, I would recommend these hot dogs as something that the whole family can enjoy. You can customize the hot dog with tons of veggies for the adventurous people, or make them really simple for the picky eaters. A super easy meal that everyone will love!
